Hello,
I just received my pspi v4 kit after almost two months of waiting. I was really looking forward to this moment, so I started assembling it. When I finished it I tested it but it didn't boot. However, after a few attempts it turned on and loaded retropie (yay!). The problem comes when I shut it down and after five minutes I turn it on. Nothing shows up in the screen. At first I thought it was a battery problem, so I charged it for 30 minutes. But nothing happened. Then I disassembled it and changed the microSD to the raspberry's connector, in order to check if there was anything wrong with the board card reader. It didn't change anything. I can't figure out what it's happening, because I guess that if it worked one time, it should work always. If anyone has had the same issues I encourage you to help me.
Thank you.
You already ruled out the most likely cause by putting the microSD card directly into the Pi.
Are there any signs of life when you turn it on? I'm assuming the LCD isn't lighting, but does the activity LED blink or do you hear any noise in the speakers?
It worked!! It was a bad soldering 🤣 I soldered it again and now it boots and works perfectly. Thank you for such an amazing project. If there’s any other problem, I’ll let you know.
Hi, i got my kit somewhere in March but only recently had time to build it (a dad since January). I have encountered an issue i might need help with (the one the title of this thread)).
Software: the image provided copyed with dd
Hardware: Battery, PI Zero, SD Card, adapter cable all work
I've re soldered twice but i get no reaction (no lights, no display,..).
Kind Regards
Hey,
today i also finished my pspi Project, Thanks to othermod for this great Board.
But im also have Problems to get it booting. When i try to Switch on with Power supply attached, it Starts flickering orange and shuts down after 10 Seconds. Without Power supply it doesnt do anything. So i tried to start the Pi with powering the Pi itself, after that it boots but the Buttons dont Work (only the Display Button for brightness).
I also attached a Keyboard, but this also dont Work. Any clue what will be the Problem? I used the ISO File to Setup my sd Card.
@p7 are you still needing support?
@tpruegner That's a strange combination of problems. As far as powering off and not working without being plugged in, it sounds like you could be having a battery connection issue. Can you check the pins on the battery connector, just to see whether the solder joint is strong on the board? I test the boards for a couple minutes before shipping to avoid issues like that, but it's always possible something could get past testing. It's also possible that the battery cable isn't fully seated into the connector, or that the protection circuit is kicking in. Just throwing out ideas as this point. There's some troubleshooting that can be done if you have a voltmeter.
