hello, I’m a newbie to the site, but ready to order everything I need for the V4 version so I just want to make sure I get everything I need. Building it as a gift for my children, probably going to have to build two lol. So with that said I want to make sure I get what I need.

I have the following: old fat psp(broken)pi zero, micro sd card

so I need a battery, V4 board, a screen(I think there is a kit for screen and board), software(github), possibly a usb mini to usb adaptor

what else is needed and can everything be purchased from other mod site?

is there a full kit for parts needed minus fat psp, pi zero, and sd?

help appreciated in advance and sorry it’s just been some time since I’ve tackled an electronic mod project but as a dad I need to try if it encourages my kids to want to spend some time with me.

thank you,

kn

The kit includes the board, LCD, and speaker wire. It doesn't include the battery or the adapters, because some people will already have those things and I'm just keeping things simple for myself and letting people add the extras as needed.

You will definitely need a battery. I bought a few that I like and they are available on the site. Any 3.7v lithium will work though as long as it has the right connector.

The miniUSB adapter is convenient so you can use the connector on the board, but you can also use a microUSB adapter directly on the Pi if you have a flexible cable.

The charging cable is optional. If you have an original PSP charger it'll work fine.

Thank you, so a totally green question, are you saying adapters referring to power adapter, and mini USB adapter? Or were you referring to something else you sell?

Thanks again,

Kn

Also a newbie to modding consoles, I need to find a cheap PSP-1000 for parts. Can find some on eBay that are listed for parts. Is it necessary for it to be in working order. Or does the modding via your board and Pi make this unnecessary??

also on another not have you consider ever making a board using compute module 3?

sorry if this seems silly

cheers

It's actually better that it doesn't work. That way you're not killing a good PSP.

As long as the PSP doesn't have any serious physical or liquid damage you should be fine. All the electronic stuff that's used from the PSP is for buttons, and they don't normally have issues.

I have considered the compute module, and I'm tinkering with it when I have free time. I don't really have any free time right now though, and doubt I will until I get caught up on V4 orders.
