Will this PowerBoost work as a replacement for as the power module used in your tutorial? I just recently wanted to build a Pi for Handheld but realized I have an old PSP 1000 lying around that doesnt work anymore! I already ordered this part so just wondering if it's possible?

Yeah it'll work. You might need to be creative with the attachment, but it does basically the same job.
