What do you think the feasibility of supporting this project in the PSVita form factor in the future would be? I'm aware this was asked previously in https://othermod.com/forum/support-for-othermods-boards/how-viable-would-a-psvita-be/ but was curious if that philosophy had changed at all given the advances you've made over the years (plus the slimmer structure that the CM4/5 give over the old PiZero form factor). My main hope is to have a unit with dual joysticks as opposed to the single joystick of the original PSP (though the larger screen is a plus).
My other question is for the CM5 itself. The CM5 generates a lot more heat and uses slightly more power than the CM4. As such, an active (or much larger passive) cooler is advised for use. Is this feasible with the current system (or in a PSVita form factor)? Again I know this was touched on in https://othermod.com/forum/project-ideas/cm5-possible-upgrade/#post-1593
I'm just really curious as to all of this. I'm looking at trying out the PSPi project myself and would love to help out however I can (I'm just not a hardware engineer and very unfamiliar with designing this kind of project lol - also feel free to delete this if you feel it overlaps too much with other topics)
I think the next iteration of this will be something close to the PSP in size and shape, but with a slightly bigger screen and dual sticks. I lean toward a totally custom shell (maybe 3D printable). This is all just something I'm thinking about, and I move fairly slow on these things so it will take a long time.
The CM5 is power hungry, and I'm still figuring out what my plans are with it. Anything I make would most likely still work with the CM4/CM5. Not sure whether itll end up with active cooling, but I lean toward yes.
