Is a microHDMI port possible on a future board?

Hello, I'm just curious if it would be too difficult to put a micro or mini HDMI port on a future board revision. Possible if the IR port was removed?

Thanks, Keep up the good work.

It is possible, but I haven't really made it a focus because the case would need modification. Its also a pain to switch between using the internal display and an HDMI one in software, and it requires a reboot each time.

I won't rule it out, especially if I make a custom case at some point.

Thank you for replying, sorry I put it in the wrong section of the forum. You can delete this post if you want.

I didn't know how difficult it would be for that. That sounds like a luxury feature for sure.

By the way:

especially if I make a custom case at some point

I am currently in the VERY early stages of making the case for the PSP-1000 in FreeCAD. Don't hold your breath, this may take a while as some of those curves are a PITA to copy. I'm thinking about making a completely flat back like the PSP-2000/3000.

Ultimately what I want is a metal case (like a boxypixel case) with: no unnecessary seams on the back for the UMD drive, a USB-C port mod that doesn't look like crap, a REALLY big battery compartment for an over-size battery.

Thanks

@whitebeard No worries, I moved it to a more appropriate section.

I'd love to see a metal PSP case. I'm fairly good with CAD myself, but I just don't have the time to design one at the moment. Let me know if you make any progress on this.

What about putting it on the cm4 board... and usbc??? Maybe a daughter board that attaches via flex ribbon  and mounts on the door?

The same answer applies here as the other question you asked
