October 2017 Giveaway and Upcoming Item – 4.3″ Raspberry Pi LCD

This month’s giveaway is complete. The LCD is also available for purchase¬†here

There’s a new item coming to the store soon, and I’m giving away the first prototype. It’s a 4.3″ 480×272 LCD that attaches directly to the Raspberry Pi Zero or 3 using the GPIO header. No soldering required if you use a Pi 3, only a ribbon is needed. Soldering is needed for the Pi Zero. There’s no controller needed, so this LCD uses very little power, making it great for your custom handheld or battery-powered project. It also has a PWM-controlled backlight, allowing you to dim it down to further reduce power usage. There are a few GPIO pins available on the Pi, so they’ve been routed to the edge of the board and labeled. I’m looking for opinions on the design and hoping to hear from you guys on how you would use it.

Entering the giveaway is as simple as clicking this link to visit the othermod discord channel #octobergiveaway, and clicking the emoji to join. The winner will be automatically determined 7 days from the start of the giveaway.

OMG, this is perfect for my project. Do you have any that I could buy right now from you?

Hmm…I’m not quite ready to make that jump. Wanted to stress-test the one I have, and possible move some components around a bit.

Are you in the USA? I might be willing to let you “beta test” one if you cover the cost of the panel and shipping.
