I am a bit confused if the carrier board is now a real GPIO or not. If it is it would be a great option to help other projects that are using Pi Zeros and struggle with RAM constrains but don’t want to go for a full scale Pi.

also in that case the more i/o from another topic here would be beneficial.

in that context it would then also be good to offer that Board also without a soldered pin header. That would give the full flexibility on how to use the board.

Hi,

There would be a great solution for breaking out USB.

not sure if I could put AliExpress links in here. So I won’t. But if you search for „FFC Type-C micro mini USB“ you should find some tiny boards that have USB connectors on one side and on the other a clip for a flexible flat cable. There are two versions out there. One has a low pin count cable, the other a high PIN number cable. The advantage of the high PIN number cable is that you can use the same cable for connecting USB to USB or HDMI to HDMI. Wile the low pin cable is just for USB 2.0.

so in your board design if you would use the same pinout and connectors as those dirt cheap adapters, you would allow your users to connect male or female and cables with whatever length they need. And all you would need to do is adding a few FFC hinge connectors.

@othermod yeah I used some 1 mm foam laminate floor padding stuff I had laying around beneath the screen (this keeps it right up against the screen (the plastic part)), then some electrical tape around the edge of the screen like the original padding. it seems to be working fine. also kinda off topic but I was thinking of putting a qi charging coil behind the umd door, I should just be able to connect the 5V from the charging board to V_USB right? Also thanks for making such an awesome mod and selling kits for so long!
