4.3″ Composite LCD and Controller Board

Ok limited run at first. If these go out of stock, you can either backorder or re-subscribe to be notified when they are back in stock. I have enough on the way for everyone to get one. I’ll have a bunch more in a week or two.

Available on backorder

4.3″ 480×272 Composite LCD modified to work at any voltage from 5v to 12v, making it perfect for 5v Raspberry Pi projects. This LCD and controller can be used in PSPi 1000 Version 2, Version 2.1 and Version 3

I finally found a supplier of a reliable model I’m willing to modify and sell. Unfortunately my cost is higher, and now I also have to include a good buck converter with each LCD.

You can also purchase and modify the same LCD yourself. It’s available here. You’ll need to modify it and then use a good quality buck converter. The converter has to output exactly 3.3v.

For instructions on modifying the most common LCDs for 5V usage, check out the tutorial here.

The installation process on this one is simple and straightforward. The only way this differs from a normal composite LCD installation is the location of the power input pads. The +5v and GND connections go to the input of the new buck converter (it’s already attached, adjusted to 3.3v, and soldered into place). The composite video input still attaches at the original location.
